State television announced the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi death.

State television say  Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has died at the age of 57.

Meles had not been seen in the last 2 month.  Ato Bereket state spokes man said in July that he was taking a break to recover from an unspecified condition.

The Ethiopian government had denied the death of Meles blaming ESAT and other sources for discriminating false propaganda.

According to the state television ETV Mr Meles died in a hospital abroad,  but they did not say exactly where or give details of his ailment.
State television said Deputy Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn will be acting prime minister.

Despite claiming to be an advocate of “developmental state”, Meles was widely condemned for imposing tyranny and a highly repressive rule.

Rumors that Meles is seriously ill have been rife since the former guerrilla leader, in power since ousting Mengistu Haile Mariam’s military junta in 1991, failed to attend an African Union summit in Addis Ababa last month.
